FREE AND DISCOUNTED PRODUCTS AND SERVICES FOR VETERANSPrescription Discount Card Program
The Prescription Discount Card Program is offered by the National Association of Counties and is administered by Caremark. There is no cost for participating, and the only requirements are that you obtain a Prescription Discount Card, present it to the pharmacists at the time of purchase, and use it at participating pharmacies and drug stores. Residents of Currituck, Dare, and many other North Carolina counties can obtain their card on-line at: http://www.rxprintacard.biz/naco/default.aspx. Unfortunately, it appears the neither Hyde nor Tyrell counties participate at this time. Residents of non-participating counties may wish to bring this program to the attention of their respective county officials as there is no cost to the county, provided they are members of the National Association of Counties. Once you have printed your card, you next need to locate a participating pharmacy or drug store. There are many of them throughout our local area—from Moyock to Hatteras. To locate one, use the participating pharmacy location tool at: https://www.caremark.com/wps/myportal/LOCAL_PHARMACY You then place your order with the pharmacist and show them your Prescription Discount Card. That's it. Your savings is immediate and your purchase price will reflect the program's discount.
